At Long Island Spine Rehabilitation Medicine, it is our belief that a successful complementary medicine approach must include an integrative treatment plan with ongoing communication between your physician and your complementary medicine specialist. Junsik Kim, Dipl.O.M., L.Ac.

Junsik Kim, Dipl.O.M., L.Ac., believes that a healthy state of our physical body arises from a well-balanced mind and a daily-life pattern. He emphasizes the understanding of the interaction between positive and negative inputs for our body to be maintained in a healthy equilibrium.

Junsik is a licensed acupuncturist in the state of New York and California. He received his master’s degree in Traditional Oriental Medicine at Emperor’s College in Santa Monica, CA. He completed his clinical externship at St. Joseph Medical Center in Burbank, CA where he provided acupuncture for patients being treated for cancer and during their rehabilitation. During and following his Master’s training, he has learned from many skilled teachers and brings to our practice extensive acupuncture experience and expertise in herbal medicine. He served as a technical supervisor at Emperor’s College and worked alongside medical doctors at the Freedom Arthritis and Osteoporosis Center.

Prior to his dedicated years in acupuncture training, Junsik majored in Plant Biology at the Ohio State University and has since conducted studies on herbal supplementation. Junsik was first impressed with the benefits of an integrative care model while working as a medic at Army Hospital in South Korea.

Outside of his practice, Junsik enjoys playing the piano, soccer, and spending time with family.

Willow E. Hammer, L.Ac.

Originally from New Mexico, Willow moved to NYC to pursue acting, but was ultimately drawn to the idea of helping people with acupuncture. Willow combines traditional Chinese diagnostic methods and modalities with a gentle Japanese needling technique in order to provide an effective treatment unique to each patient.
