Jose Gamara always had an interest in healthcare and began his professional studies at Nassau Community College, obtaining his AAS in 2013. During this time, joined the team at NY Physical Therapy & Wellness. His dedication to providing attentive, high quality, and individualized care to every patient earned him the promotion to East Meadow’s Clinical Director in September 2017. Jose believes in the importance of continued education and recently completed multiple courses on core stabilization, sports medicine and joint dysfunction. He has a history of treating patients with stroke, Parkinson’s, Multiple Sclerosis, scoliosis, herniated discs and a variety of orthopedic conditions. Jose has worked with a wide array of patient populations including outpatient orthopedic and post-operative rehabilitation, pediatrics, young athletes, sports rehab, and geriatrics. Jose utilizes a variety of techniques including manual therapy and Kinesio taping to address joint and soft tissue restrictions and assessing dysfunction via functional movement, as well as exercises in order to restore ROM (range of movement) and strength. When he’s not at the office, Jose likes to spend time with his son, family and friends exploring new activities. He is also extremely passionate about travel, and always makes time to stay active by enjoying the outdoors, working out, and cycling with MBC bicycle club.
